Overview

In the archive and compression ActiveX component two compression methods (ZIP, ACE) were included. Both can be used for the compression of files and folders with high compression rates.

The ZIP component was choosen, because ZIP is a widespread method and ACE has been selected because of its very high compression rats. Both compression methods can be downloaded as trial version from the page of the designer of the component. (ZIP at Bigspeed Net and ACE at Winace.com). The ZIP DLL by Bigspeed Net is the fastest and smallest ZIP DLL on the market. The designed ActiveX DLL offers in an easy way the access to functions provided by the both archivetypes. The software developer does not need to include additional code, as it is required when integrating eighter the ZIP or ACE DLL alone.

A ActiveX-DLL is a COM-Component, because of that it can be integrated through the OLE-Automation in many programming languages, such as Visual Basic (VB), Visual C++ (VC) or Delphi.
